I enclose copy of a letter from the China Association to the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies dated 22nd November, 1944 and of the previous letter to which it refers dated 27th May, 1943, stressing the importance of the retention of Hong Kong within the British Empire in the interests of British trade in China and suggesting the lines on which the question might be discussed with the Chinese.
